Gift Suggestions: Scrubs

Long ago medical nursing scrubs are just seen in the hospitals and they were usually plain white and not so fashionable that the medical staff would like to take them off immediately.

Now, scrubs are considered fashionable and everyone would like to own one.  They are so comfortable to wear at home like pajamas especially if they are made with the softest fibers and 100% pure cotton!

I wouldn't mind giving scrubs sets as gifts this Christmas as they suit everyone not just hospital workers.  Look how adorable these kids are with their own set!

You can get a set for girls and boys at $40 while a set for baby is ranging from $35 - $45 a set! Not bad eh?

Things I Can Do In One Click!

When I was a little girl I always look forward to going to Araneta Collisuem to watch a live children's show featuring either Disney on Ice or The Worlds Greatest Circus.

I feel bad not having my daughter watch these shows as often as I did before but well she was able to see the real deal in Disneyland HongKong when we went there for a visit.

I'm planning to reserve some Rosemont theater tickets as I heard they feature the world's best live children show.  I saw a Barney show coming this December , Lord of the Dance and Legally Blonde on their schedule.  The daughter would love the Barney show and I would love to see Legally Blonde and their version of the bend and snap!

The last concert I attended was the Then and Now show where Diana King, and Jojo performed.  I will be booking some United Center tickets as Lady Gaga will be performing there in February 2011!   I also saw Bon Jovi and the reunion show of the New Kids on The Block!   Sounds exciting!

The Wigley Field Tickets I got will be good for the game of the Chicago Cubs in March and the game of the Northwestern Wildcats Football.

I got all these tickets by booking online.  Imaging I was able to get sure seats for a live children's entertainment show, musical acts and concert and amazing sports game without any hassle and with just one click!

SME Website Hosting

I've been blogging for three years now and so far I'm happy with my web hosting because it doesn't have long or frequent down times unlike other providers.

This is one of the most important factor when one subscribe to a provider as the life of your business or blog depends on the capabilities and performance of your provider that most managed hosting could not give.

Stay Connected

I don't know how I will survive without internet in my life now. I depend on it for my work and to communicate with my loved one who is so far away from me. So, every time my internet signal would act up it makes me mad. I don't understand why my broadband internet would get disconnected when it rains, maybe I should switch to something reliable.

There are so many new deals now like broadband satellite internet access . I don't know how this works but it looks promising.

I was doing my research about cheap satellite broadband and I noticed some of the packages include satellite television which I think is cool. Something we would need since cable TV subscriptions are very limited these days.

Lessening Plastic Wastes

If everyone was disciplined enough to carry the usual bayong or paper bags when they shop, then there would be less plastic waste worldwide. I know its unavoidable to use plastics especially on items that are wet. Some genius mind out there should thinks something about this. But using Eco Bags is one of the means to lessen plastic shopping bag use so. Either establishment gives eco bags for free or allow shoppers to bring their own shopping bags and give them discount because they didn't use plastic.

Seriously, a shopper wouldn't pay an extra Php35 just to carry the items they just bought. These stores should give it for free. Shoppers shouldn't be the one shouldering the impending tax these they will have to pay for using plastic bags in their establishments..

Keeping My Things Safe

I never had a locker when I was in my gradeschool or highschool because our school doesn't provide such and doesn't have any funds for it and so we are forced to carry all our school books and notebooks and other school things everyday.

The only time I was able to use lockers was when I was working for a call center and this is way beyond highschool or even college. I guess most of us haven't used lockers during school time because most lockers in there were decorated like some gradeschool or highschool kid would do. They say its an expression of ones self but well its not so professional to think that its an office locker. People use it like they are back in school and are using school lockers.

Online Math Tutors

Seriously I think some of the math subject being taught in College don't need to be there unless the course a student was enrolled to is engineering, accountant, or anything that requires a lot of calculation and math formulas.

I barely passed my college math and I can't remember what is a Factoring polynomials . If my daughter would ask me about this she will be very disappointed because I don't know the answer and she will suffer the same disappointment I have when I was still studying.

I used to asked my brother and sister on how to solve math problems but they would revert me to my book and tell me I should understand my lesson, after all its my lesson. I would sit in the corner and sulk. Good thing there was my dad to the rescue, he would help me do it.

Students these days are lucky because there are free math help they can find online. This one is and online math tutoring service that is specifically for K-12 and college students. I wish we have this during my time.

How To Enable The Disabled

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of NMEDA. All opinions are 100% mine.
Visit my sponsor: NMEDA

Its sad how disable people are disregarded in third world countries like in the Philippines. They are forced to just stay at their homes or at a convenient place for them and for the "normal" people so as not to be an annoyance or disturbance to anyone.

It was disabled awareness last week and some of the members of this minority showed to the world how inaccessible it is to live in the country. They tried out the so called access points for them in public places including the people's walway/ overpass in EDSA and it was only then that they realized how inaccessible it was to use. It was too steep for a disabled person to use. In public transport although there is an allocated space for them they can't really use it because they drivers would rather not choose to take them as passengers because they need to be carried inside.

Because of this disabled are forced to use their wheelchair as a means of their transportation. But most of their wheelchairs are not that durable or not for transport use.

I hope our government will try to look at ways we can help the disabled and probably check on NMEDA so they can provide them with customized wheelchairs that they can also use for transport since reconstructing sidewalks and people's overpass will cost them more.

NMEDA will be willing to help them since they promote safety to disabled individuals. They adhere to the safety standards of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Maybe the government can also purchase handicap vans and vehicles that are solely for disabled person.

This will be a better option that rebuilding all the structures that are already there. NMEDA can help us find the solution to this problem and make life more easier to the disabled. NMEDA had dealers we can contact although they are only available in the US. Their Quality Assurance Program is a recognized accreditation program for the Adaptive Mobility Equipment Industry they are very experienced when it comes to such need.

I saw Henry Sy Sr.being carried around by his caregivers so he can go around his chains of malls nationwide I think he would be delighted to find out that he can have a customized vehicle for him. I think he will also be delighted to know he can still drive a vehicle if he finds out about this.

A Doctor Finding Cure For HIV/ Aids

It's inspiring to know how some doctors would go out of their way to help the less fortunate people.   Dr Ann Duerr was brought up to be a scientist.  Her dad is a scientist and so she was expected to follow the same path. She did for some time until she was taken to a different path when she decided to take a post-graduate course in Asia.

While taking up her  PhD in Biologic Sciences, Dr Ann Duerr was exposed to the living conditions in third world countries.  She was floored with the challenges people living in the third world countries suffer.  From then on she promised herself to do something to help.  After finishing her PhD she started researching about parasitic diseases relevant to the third world and finish her Post Doctorate degree in Cairo and completed her residency training at Harvard and John Hopkins.

Dr Ann Duerr how spread AIDS epidemic in Africa became while at John Hopkins and decided to make a switch from studying tropical diseases to studying AIDS and finding the vaccine to cure it.  At the moment she is doing extensive research finding answers all over the world about this pandemic and have published several materials regarding biological and epidemiological determinants of HIV transmission and more.

Walking Sticks And Canes As Fashion Accessory?

Men have very limited fashion accessories and props to make them stand out in a crowd.  Fedora hats, blazers and leather jackets are just everywhere.  Maybe its time for them to find something else that will make them stand out, and yes I suggest walking canes  or sticks.

I know that they were thought of as a tool to assist someone to be steadier in their feet but Charlie Chaplin and Dr. Gregory House definitely did not need assisting with their walking.

Dr. Gregory House
Charlie Chaplin
Check out 1001walkingcanes.com to find the right mens cane to suit your attire.  There are pieces that are perfect for formal wear, casual wear and a lot more, there are canes for women too.

If you are living, visiting or transacting business internationally it is very likely that you meet people who don't know how to speak or write in English.  I have been to Hong Kong couple of times and most of them don't know how to speak English fluently more so writing it.  I've heard that most people in Japan don't speak English well too that's why they require those who want to work in their country to speak their language.

If you are in these countries and transacting business or just reading some papers and would like to understand whatever they mean without the pain of learning the language for a couple of months, you could use online translation services.

Girly Car

I don't know how to drive but if ever I would I want my first car to be a bumble bee Volkswagen, like the one Drew Barrymore used in the movie Mad Love.  I want everything customized from the dashboard, the paint, the wheels, the car seat and I also want to have some custom headlights installed to it.

The only thing I don't like about the Volks is that they have loud auto machines so maybe I will have it replaced by something that is not noisy.  Hmmmm I wonder how much will I spend with all this personalized Bumble Bee!

But if I have more money than I can imagine I would like to have a Mini Cooper for my first car and then have a Jaguar, a Volvo, Chevrolet Cobalt , Alfa Romero 8C, a Ferari 599 , a Ford Pantera, a Porshe Boxter, Lamborghini Countach lol... OK OK I can't drive but I love how they look!

Drug And Alcohol Treatment

A person who is addicted to smoking, alcohol, drugs or gambling will never ever recover from if if he does not admit he has a problem.  They will just reject any drug treatment or alcohol treatment administered to them if ever forced to get in treatment centers and you will just be wasting your time and money.

Before taking a patient to a drug rehab or any residential treatment centers they should undergo psychiatric test and medical test to see the level of their addiction and which treatment will be best for them.

Its also wise to get a rehabilitation center that is far from your usual environment so that recovery will be much faster.  I've heard that the Axis Residential Treatment has the best 12 step treatment program for drug and alcohol addiction.  They are located in Palm Springs in Los Angeles and is an alcohol treatment center that openly treats anyone regardless of sexual orientation, race or religion.

Self Storage Locations

My sister and I are canvassing for home furnishings and storage that will maximize a condominium setup.  As you all know condominiums have limited space and so its wise to invest on furnishings that is functional and takes less space.  We saw a multi-functional dresser, bed frame, dining table, tv rack, and divider that doubles up to something else which is very neat.

At the moment my sister and I are sorting our stuff in the old house.  I was packed with so many things we own since the day we moved in here more than twenty years ago.  Now is the best time to sort them all out and choose which ones we will bring in the new home and which ones will be placed on self storage locations.

Here are some tips I've learned from storage solutions provider/ home organizers

  1. It is wise that you plan your storage well. Put the things you think you will be using in the next few weeks or months or earlier in the first row or top row to find them easier.
  2. The items that don't get to be used and will not be used should be placed at the bottom row or end row so it doesn't get mixed with the other items.
  3. Its wise to make a map of the things you will put in the storage and include a label for each so it will be easier to find them.
  4. Larger and heavier items should be also placed at the bottom to protect the other lighter materials.
  5. To save more space if the large items to be stored can be collapsed or disassembled then do so.
  6. Make sure that there are spaces for the items stored to breathe.
  7. Fill large items with the smaller items.
  8. If you can't do this by yourself hire a professional they know what to do and know of self storage locations that you can use .  Just make sure that they are real professionals and all your precious personal belongings are already separated.  Or just make sure to have a contract, waiver and insurance to make sure you are protected.

Snagging A Rocky Point Deal

I'm more of a city girl and you can call me street smart.   I like to look at high rise buildings and love the colorful lights at night.   City noise is a normal thing for me but I do enjoy nature when I get the chance to go out-of-town.  The beach is my favorite destination.  I love watching the sunrise and the sunset .  I love the feel of the sand on my feet.  I love the fresh breeze brushing against my skin.  I love the feel of the crystal clear water.

Rocky Point,  is a five hour drive from the busy Phoenix, Arizona its the nearest beach in the area and it would be nice if I can snag some rocky point homes for sale so I will have a place to relax and be with with nature on a weekend.

Rocky Point is also known as Puerto Penasco and there are are great rocky point deals you can get from Rocky Point Dan, he is a real estate seller doing the business for five years and his expertise are condo units with awesome seaside view.

He can hook you up with puerto penasco for sale condo units and he is definite you will adore the property.  Check his site out now to see whats available now.

Father's Day Thoughts

My father, whom I called Papa as our term for endearment would never tell me what to do and how to do it. It was different to what our cousins tell us he was with them, he was very strict with the. His parenting style when it comes to us was a hands-off one, although he laid his hands on me a couple times I had lash marks here and there when I was a young girl because I was very mischievous. Because of that I grew afraid of him and we never got really close.

Now that he is gone and I hear nice stories about how he was like, I feel amiss, because I never knew my father the way they tell me he was. Maybe because I grew distant of him and even wish him gone couple of times.

I saw a commercial on TV today its a little girl and an old man, probably a grandchild and a grandfather. It reminded me of my dad and my daughter. My dad use to give her his biscuits, she would sit on his lap. Realizing how weak and how painful my father's body was after his death, he endured my daughter's ways. I'm glad my daughter was able to show my father love even for a bit.

I miss you Papa. I love you. Happy Father's Day, wherever you are.

Detached

I'm sorry I have neglected this blog, it was created with a good theme and a good start that earned its good standing at the search engines. But since I am blogging full time for a living, I have set aside my personal thoughts and opinion and try to be objective in a way in my posts which leaves me not much room to be too emotional and too personal.

It doesn't mean I am detached I'm just busy with "work". I'm happy because I'm working at home doing things I love and stay with my family. I don't have any boss or time to keep. I work according to my terms and nobody else.

I will try my best to update this blog at least once a week.

All the best,
Earth :)

Do Your Part For The Love Of Earth

Its the 40th year the world is celebrating Earth Day, imagine that. We only started celebrating 40 years ago.  We have wasted so much time to prevent whatever is happening now but we only did it 40 years ago and its not enough.

Volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, extreme drought and extreme snow.  Our planet is telling us that she is badly hurt and suffering and that we should do something for the love of Earth and our children and our children's children who will live when we are gone.

For the love of earth do your part and do something let's make 2010 Earth Day matter the most among all other celebrations.

Can I Trust You?

Can I trust you after all the lies you told me in the past?
Can I trust you after all the lies you are telling me today?
How can you look at me with a straight face when all you do is make me believe you are true.
You are hurting me again, you are hurting me continually, I have never forgotten all the things you have done. I've been trying really hard not to look back but the things you do and the things you are doing makes me go back to that feeling I never wanted to experience anymore.
But still you keep doing it, the things that hurt me.
Now tell me, can I trust you?
I don't think so.
Liar!

Pre-Employment Screening

It's always important to make sure that the employees you hire for your company are reliable, and healthy of mind and body, in order to perform their duties optimally. That is why employee screening or pre-employment screening of anyone you want to hire, is a pre-requisite for all companies these days. Most companies do some kind of pre-employment background checks now to make sure that all the information on an applicant, mentioned on his resume, is true and not fabricated. However, many still do not pursue the kind of expert screening process conducted at cibackgrounds.com, which take the job screening process beyond this first step. After checking references, it is also important for the applicant to pass a background check, even a physical test that can include drug screening, so that your company will be assured of the applicant's good physical and mental condition. Some applicants feel all these process are an inconvenience to their time, but for a company who wants to maintain a good reputation this process is critical.

Solve Back Pain In Des Moines, Iowa

How do you get rid of your back pain? Do you: a) pop a pill and sleep it off? b) go to a masseur to ease the soreness of your back? c) Or do you go to a chiropractor to give you, not just relief but a lifetime of health and wellness?

The most common practice would be a) and b. Rarely does anyone want to seek the help of a chiropractor because they don't see the need for it. People think that a masseur or a pill is all they need. Little do they know that a chiropractor can give them the best care they need by finding out the cause of the back problem and then by doing some alignments on the spine which takes the pressure off your nervous system.

The Hassel Family chiropractic clinic in Des Moines, members of the Des Moines chiropractor have been practicing this science of health care for years. They know that back pain is often caused by the pressure that can occur in our spine or at vertebral subluxations, that interfere with how your brain and body communicates with each other. This communication interference causes all kinds of symptoms in your body and this is what chiropractic treatment does to give you a lifetime of relief. I suggest you call a chiropractor Des Moines to answer all the throbbing questions you have about this practice. Take your health to the next level.

Des Moines Chiropractic Clinic

In my earlier post I mentioned about the Hassel Family chiropractor Des Moines whom you can consult regarding your back problems. They maintain a chiropractic center in Des Moines that takes good care of their patients by taking them to the higher and more positive levels of their personal health and wellness. I'm sure you would like to know more before your first visit so don't hesitate to call them. I can give you an overview about what happens on your first visit.

Your first visit to chiropractic health Des Moines will only take about 30 minutes. Some of that time will be spent at filling out forms about your health history. They will show you a video about the practice and then you get to have a heart to heart talk with the Dr. Hassel to spill out all your health concerns. Don't be afraid to ask him and his staff questions too. After that you will have a complete exam that includes a special test to help determine your problem areas. Tests include static palation, motion palpation, instrumentation some of which are just about feeling the bones in your spine for tenderness, swelling and or other abnormalities. All these tests will help the chiropractic doctor determine if you are a good fit for chiropractic treatment case and whether they can help you out.

When you are ready, you can give them a call and find out about your overall health and how to improve it.

Organic Apples

I'm sure you have heard the saying "an apple a day keeps a doctor away" but haven't fully understand where the saying comes from. Did you know that an apple contains just about 80 calories, is low in sodium and has zero saturated fat and cholesterol content and is an excellent source of vitamin C and dietary fiber?

Apples are the organic fruit of the month.National News Today has cited a food index scoring that ranked apples among the top of the most nutritional foods available today. Apples rank higher in nutritional value than bananas, orange juice, salmon and oatmeal as scored by the Overall Nutrional Quality Indez (ONQI) in the U.S. The ONQI is a system developed by 12 medical and nutritional experts from North American universities and and health organizations using algorithmic formula to score the nutritional value of foods on a scale of one to 100. They based it on 30 different nutrient factors and the higher the score the higher the nutritional value. The apple got 96 points on this scoring and your regular soda scored a very low point of 1 while your favorite pepperoni toppings scored a 9! So if regular grown apples are this healthy, imagine that of farm direct organic apples.

I read that Washington organic apples are the best in the U.S and are the leading organic apple producer in the world. About 60% of all the U.S. certified organic apples are from Washington. The National News Today features an apple farmer you can actually contact and order your apples direct his name is Paul Madden. You can check them out for more details.

Fractional Ownership

I love the city, I live and breathe the city. But sometimes when things get very stressful I would like to take a vacation where I can stay in a nice beachfront vacation home so I can have a lot of relaxing time on the beach. I imagine I would bathe in the sun and feel the gentle ocean breeze rush through my hair. I would like to soak in the sea water and enjoy an awesome view of the sunrise and sunset.

However, owning a beachfront home remains a dream as owning a place like that would cost me a fortune. Or would it? I heard there are options to make my dream a reality. I can take advantage of fractional ownership real estate like that discussed in the an online real estate news .

According to their article this type of property ownership allows an investor to pay only a fraction of the actual price of the property. Instead of paying the full 100% of your dream beachfront vacation home you can have your dream by paying only 10% of it. This payment mode and way of owning property allows you to use the vacation house 5 weeks a year, which is very convenient for those who live and work in the city. I think this is the best deal ever, especially the one from the Emeral Island vacation hom investment where you can vacation in North Carolina every year; in your own beachfront home. Now that's smart real estate investing!

Promiscuousity

In the Catholic belief sex is sacred and should only be shared by a couple who are blessed in the sanctity of marriage. But the modern times, especially the exposure to TV shows and the internet some think sex is overrated.

Other religion, allow a man to be married to multiple women and so he gets to go around with different partners. Kinda like an open relationship too.

Its like having their own Lifestyle Lounge where each woman will have a schedule when he can get to sleep with the man. What a lucky guy I think.

Paganism I think practice swinging too and there's no big deal about it to them. Its only the Christian and Catholic church who put a restrain in the physical contact. Same reason why they are so afraid of having the Reproductive Health Bill approved here in the country.

But people who belong to St Louis swingers, charlotte swingers and Spokane swingers don't care about this. They just do as they please.

Open Relationships

I was watching a new show on our local TV station with my mom the other day and their topic was kinda controversial, well the shows theme is controversial already. It's the first on Philippine television and I bet if it gets popular our local TV censorship will have its eye on it.

Anyway the topic that day was about a guy who left a girl he used to live with for another girl. He had two kids with the first woman, while he is still on the honeymoon stage with the new one.

I guess this is the rule people in an open relationship follow. In a more vulgar term they are called swingers. They join Lifestyle Lounge to get more networks.

It's not popular here in the Philippines or maybe its an underground thing. But in the U.S. they are very open about these things. There are groups in different localities likeRochester swingers ; Memphis swingers;and Reno swingers other places.

Couples who engage in this kind of relationships are either very confident about the love of their partners and are very adventurous or think about sex as just a tool for fun and nothing sacred about it.

I told my mom " well, if a guy wants to play around or leaves me for someone else, I won't chase him, I'll let him be and enjoy. I will do the same. If he wants to come back and tired of all this foolishness and I still love him I'll take him back. But of course I'll play around too like he did. Men and women are created equal anyway."

Mom was shocked. I said, it's how people should be thinking these days. Don't stress themselves about this trivial things. If he wants an open relationship, I'm game for it. Two can play his game.

But of course I was just saying this to shock my mom haha! I love doing that. However there's a bit of sense in what I said. I mean if he can I can. He is moving on? I will move on no holds bar.

Justin Timberlake Live In Manila

I am such a huge fan of Justin Timberlake I admire his talent, the way he sings and dance. I think he will be and he is the next generation Michael Jackson.

I was super lucky to be able to see Justin Timberlake in the flesh last night during the Changing Lives Concert/ Timbaland Shock Wave II Tour Manila with Timbaland and Jojo.

It was the best and the first huge concert with big international names I've ever attended and I wasn't disappointed. It was the best imagine 10 songs from Justin Timberlake! The concert lasted for 2 hours! It's just wonderful.

You can watch Justin Timberlake performing Sexy Back feat Promiscuous Girl and Lovestoned live here.

Are You Ready For The Big League?

The First Speed, Agility and Quickness Camp that will be offered in the Philippines this April is a good opportunity for future varsity players and those who want to become part of the bigger basketball teams leagues like those who play for the PBA and NBA.

If you see your child has a liking for sports especially basketball then the SAQ camp will be good for them.  Who knows instead of buying New York Knicks Tickets or Los Angeles Lakers Tickets you will get to sit in the front row for free as you watch your son play in the big league.

Instead of buying sports tickets you can go purchase Disney On Ice Tickets instead to treat your friends and family for the success your child achieved playing basketball.  All because you enrolled him to the SAQ camp.
The SAQ camp is just like the Milo Summer Camp before but much better and much rigid training .

Gardening

I don't know who should we blame for the untimely demolition and reconstruction of public roads and side walks  at the height of the election campaigning period.  Is it the local city engineers office or the public works and highways.  Whichever they should inform their workers to respect the right of way and the border of the public and private properties.

Just recently some public roads worker tear our front yard garden because they want to beautify the street by making the side walks uniform.  My mom was left with no choice but to invest on a good decorative planter that she can use indoors and outdoors.

I am window shopping for indoor and outdoor planters that I can give to my mom as an addition to her beautiful mini-garden.  I saw some gorgeous decorative planters that I'm sure she will love and will look good with her flowery plants.  This site I'm looking at offers free shipping and handling and a door-to-door delivery which is a relief since I am still loathing my last visit to our post office to claim a parcel.

Math is the most difficult subject I have to deal with when I was still in school. I would have to bug my dad or my brother and sister to help me out with my Math homework. But still, no matter how hard they tell me how to do it I still can't seem to get it as my head could not absorb it.

I'm glad that I will not have to go through the same agony of knowing what are those numbers and symbols are for, my daughter would not need any Calculus help as she has different needs that I have to face. To each his own problem to deal with I guess.

Anyway, the students of today are very lucky because there are Free math tutoring online available these days. They can simply use their computers and learn math the fun and easier way without having to be called slow by your siblings like mine used to call me.

Tutorvista covers so many tutorial services online that any student, parents and teachers could use to make learning Math easier and fun. The good thing about their online tutoring service is that its available 24/7 so everyone can learn math any time of the day.

All Inclusive Vacation Packages This Summer

December was the last time I was in a beach for a vacation, it wasn't summer yet but well here in the Philippines everyday is a summer.  We have a lot of beautiful beach here in the country but I also want to go out of the country and see why they are raving about it.

Runaway Bay Jamaica,  the Breezes Resorts and Negril Jamaica are among the beach resorts in Jamaica I would like to visit.  I heard the customer service is outstanding and the people are very friendly and warm.  They are among the pride resorts of the land and visiting them would be a dream.

I heard there are all inclusive vacation packages offerings on the resorts I mentioned above.

I will definitely bring my camera with me and take loads of  photographs to capture the pride of their beaches.  I heard Hollywood stars frequent these beaches, I wonder if I'll bump into one of them when I get there, that would be fabulous.

Cooking Tips

I didn't have any formal cooking lesson or attend any forma cooking class but I do cook and have attended a couple of cooking demonstrations and even joined a cooking contest for bloggers some months ago. Along the way I have come with some ideas that will make cooking much easier and fun for everyone.

Here are some cooking tips I'll share with you and I hope you find them useful:

1) Invest on quality and a bit pricey cooking pots and pans because not only your meal will be cooked right, you will be able to use them for a lifetime if cared for properly.
2) Invest on quality kitchen knives.
3) Prepare all the ingredients first than peel one ingredient at a time, this speeds up the cooking time.
4) Vegetables should be kept in the vegetable compartment in the fridge to keep its freshness.  Don't put the onion, garlic and , ginger in the same place with the other vegetables.
5) A sliced onion lose its acidity so you must use it immediately after cutting, don't store portion of unused onion in fridge.
6) Slice a mushroom on top first rather than on its side to prevent it from rolling over while you do your slicing.

Thank God For Truck Liners

Its been a while since it rained here in Manila and todays short drizzle was very much appreciated. I've noticed the past few days that most of the trees in the Quezon City Circle and along the highway are getting wilting in the heat and in a few days without rain they will all die.

I saw some fire trucks the other day and instead of killing fires they were tasked to water the plants and trees. This El Nino is so bad that most of the agricultural crops and farm lands are drying up and cracking. I don't think truck liners can't do anything to keep the moist in the soil too. That's a trick some farmers used to keep the soil damp I heard.

The heat is also giving me migraines lately. I hope there will be more rains like this like every other day to keep our cool and keep the soil moist and all the trees in the world alive.

Happy With The Results Of The Oscars

I'm happy with the results of the 82nd Academy Awards or The Oscars.  Women all over the world are so proud and happy to have the first female film maker to claim the first Oscar Award for Best Director. Kathyrine Bigelow for her movie The Hurt Locker won over the box-office director James Cameron for his movie Avatar.

I haven't seen the movie yet as war movies does not appeal to me but since after the win and knowing that the director was a woman, I will find a way to watch this film.

Sandra Bullock won the Best Actress in a leading role for the movie The Blind Side , her first Academy Award since her acting career.  Moni'que was so happy for her win as the Best Actress in a Supporting Role for the movie Precious, another movie that I have to see.

Altering My Look

Do you know whats the best props/accessories to use to look dignified and old?

When I was doing some PR job for some known personalities couple years back I used to wear
eyeglasses to make me look older and nerdy! I do that because I look 10 years younger than my actual age in person and I hate not being taken seriously just because I look young. Just because they thought I was just a girl who doesn't know anything but look pretty! Excuse the put. So I needed a props and the eyeglasses worked well.

Eventually they realized I'm not a little girl and I know what I am doing. So I got rid of my nerdy spectacles because they are kinda uncomfortable. Also, they got lost somewhere I don't know where.

How about you what do you do to alter your look when doing business?

Wonky Browsers

Is it just me or net browsers are wonky lately?  I'm using 3 different browser and all of them are having problems.  Chrome crashes from time to time, Firefox crashes all of the time, Explorer is a slow as hell.  It's annoying specially when you are working on something and your browser shuts down.

Although there's the recover thingy but still the inconvenience of doing everything again or just wait for the windows to open is a big hassle.

Some said probably its my net or my computer maybe I have installed something in my PC that's making it this way.  I think I need a duplicate finder program that will delete all the duplicate programs I have installed in my pc.  Oh well, I will just have to bear with it until these browser developers fix the bug in their programs.

Ways To Survive The GFC

Everyone is now feeling the crunch of the Global Financial Crisis.  Blog opportunities are less except on PU2B. There are so many people being laid off and are expecting to lose their jobs before before the summer ends.

We should really take the ants lead about saving for a rainy day.  Stocking up as many food as they can while they can.  We should start reconciling our finances and never ever spend whatever is beyond our means.  Learn to control your impulses and I hope you were able to get a temporary insurance on your properties.

If not you can still get one now and most are at bargain prices. Just hope and pray that they are unlike those insurance companies like the CAP who's owner run with all the money and left all the people who invested in it hopeless.

We should all be very careful where we put our money, never ever believe in easy money making opportunities because there is no easy way to make money than working hard for it.  Good luck everyone.

No Excuse Not To Look Good

Our genes will dictate if we will look good or not right? Wrong!  With all the beauty products and Cosmetic Surgery being offered everywhere nobody can give that excuse that they can't look good anymore.  Anyone can alter how they look or enhance whatever they are gifted with by their genes.

Even if we don't have money we can use things that can be found in our homes or garden to beautify ourselves.  There's simply no excuse not to look good but laziness.

You owe it to yourself not anyone else.  You see, the more you see yourself looking good the more people will believe you are.  It's not really how you look but how you project yourself to others.  Your thoughts and beliefs are powerful enough to influence others.

To Drive Or Not To Drive?

My daughter is growing fast. In fact she is just a couple inches away into getting as tall as me and she is only eight. What else if she becomes a teenager!

With this in mind I really believe I should learn how to drive so I won't have a hard time dragging her up and down a public vehicle and be mindful where here hands go or when she is going to scream. Aside from that I wanted to take mom and daughter to places I go to but I just couldn't do it when we are commuting. It's hard to take care of a senior and a special person at one time.

Anyway, I've been looking around for places I can learn how to drive and for nice cars I would want to drive. The one in SM Fairview kinda looks like what the Phoenix auto dealers would offer me. But of course before I buy a car I should learn to drive first!

There's No Such Thing As Free Lunch

Everything has a price. Even those who claim its free there is always something in exchange for it. Like online contest and promos. You have to atleast pretend to like them enough to write or post about them.

If you want something you have to work for it. That's what's its all about. There's no such thing as free lunch. You either pay for it or you do something in return. A favor for a favor.

Such is also the business of politics. You don't really think supporters just support because they believe in the persons ability to do what is good for the country. They supported a certain candidate because its a part of their investment. In business there are so many ways to deal and succeed. Some invest in stocks and bonds and learn about the
options trading system while some invest in people and what these people can do for them.

New Stuff For My Bedroom

After all that cleaning I did I realized I need a couple of stuff to keep all my things intact and undisturbed by my very playful daughter.

Among the things I need are a new bed because my bed is badly shaped now after some springs have deformed and misplaced. I had this bed for more than 8 years now. I also need new cabinet or storage for all my make-up and kikay stuff. I need to Shop Premier for storage boxes that are durable.

My honey had been pestering me about my computer chair, he said I need to get a new one because this one is bad for my back and butt. I'm too stubborn to get one since its big and bulky. But if he really cares about my back he should surprise me by getting it for me instead. LMAO!

I also need a new carpet or at least a vacuum cleaner. The broomstick just couldn't do the job anymore.
