Celebrity In Their Own Right

You may not know them, but for us who are parents of a child with autism, they are celebrities in their own right and serves as a great inspiration for us.

Enzo, 17 y.o. is now studying at La Salle and is very intelligent and highly articulate person. When he was 3 years old he was diagnosed with learning disabilities and autism. He was non-verbal and not communicating at all. But because of his moms perserverance, learning about autism and teaching her child like any ordinary mom would do to their child, Enzo's brain opened up and now you can't even tell he was different.

Gabby is now 43 and was diagnosed with Asperger syndrome when he was already 41. He and his family thought there was something different with him, but because he wasn't treated as unequal as anyone else, he was able to study at a university although he didn't graduate and was able to work for a publishing company for 13 years. He was able to function like any "normal" person can and was productive.

Asperger syndrome is still in the autism spectrum disorder but they are the higher functioning ones and was even said to be the highly gifted children, genius as they call it. At the discovery of asperger in 1994 they now think Einstein, Da Vinci and Mozart
are among those who have it.
