One day an angel went to God and ask:
"God, why did you gave her an autistic child? She is very loving, patient, kind, thoughtful, understanding and happy person. She should have had a normal child like most."
God answered:
"That is why I gave that child to her because she is all that. I know my child will be in good hands with her."
Sometimes, when we have burdens in our life that we can no longer handle we ask God "Why me?" This simple story just tell us that God will not give us things we cannot endure. He knows our strengths and weaknesses and he knows what is best for us.
Like my Mom used to tell me, "He doesn't give you more than you can handle!"
I still find it a beautiful thought :)
Yeah Bobby, very encouraging thought really.
My nephew is autistic and my sister-in-law goes crazy when people say stuff like that to her. His autism is severe (he is non-verbal) and she thinks just because she is strong...that means he has to suffer with this? It is a very frustrating condition and sometimes, there isn't the right thing to say:-(
Thanks for stopping by my blog today. I hope to see you again soon.
Hi Susie,
What do you mean just because she is strong...? Well, I just want to clarify just because an autistic child is non-verbal it is severe. If you the sister-in-law feels frustrated about your nephews condition, what more your sister-in-law since its her son?
I don't know fully the situation in the family and I would also go crazy when my child is labeled. I have another blog that this that deals with autism maybe you should read some and let her do to. She needs all support she can get.
Thanks for stopping by here too. I hope to see more of you too.
I hope you didn't misunderstand my comments. People are well-intentioned and try to support her by saying that God gives only what you can handle. But, it breaks her heart to see her son struggle everyday with this. So, she blames herself. She feels like if she were weaker, her son wouldn't have this.
I didn't mean to imply that severity and nonverbal are the same thing. I just meant to say that he is both. Sorry. It's so hard to convey.
Oh I see I'm sorry Susie I think I misunderstood you then. Is there any support group in your area where she can relate to? This is not her fault.
Maybe you can go with her too and the family just so you know what to do.
I know it's really hard.
Hi Earthlingorgeous,
Those burdens are there to make us stronger and better people to deal with the future.
Missed you my friend :)
Hi Zunnur,
You've been gone for a while, where have you been? Hope everything is alright. Thanks for dropping by :)
Great post! Really makes you stop and think.
Thanks Jennifer :)
Earth, i love the post. It applies to everything actually. :)
I agree! God would not give us a "burden" that we couldn't handle. He is wiser than we can even begin to comprehend.

This is a touching post. God bless.
Hello everyone,
Thank you for finding this post helpful.
Some times you are given more than you can handle and that's why the suicide rate is so high.
Peace to your heart.
