Faith and Fear

“You block your dream when you allow your fear to grow bigger than your faith.” Mary Manin Morrissey

Wow! This hits the mark. More often than not when we stop doing things we love or start being negative about things it’s because of our fears. The fear of something unknown, fear of our own failures and shortcomings, fear of losing and any type of fear that you can ever imagine, that keeps us away from doing what we always wanted to do, what we always dreamed of, what we wanted to achieve in life.

It’s our stumbling block, the great big wall that holds us down into something more fulfilling. Even before things happen we already imagine things that might happen we already panic at the thought of something that doesn’t really exist.

So often times, when our apprehension gets the best of us, we go to our safe zone or comfort zone and stop there because we feel inferior.

“Fear is just your feelings asking for a hug.” Danielle Sanchez

What doesn’t kill me makes me strong, this is something we all heard about but really don’t understand. As we go through our life we experience life’s difficulties and the harsh world around us. We learn from those mistakes and sometimes the lesson of the past is deeply embedded in our subconscious and only awakes when something similar to the situation that break us but didn’t kill us happens, then we either pull back or hold back, preventing something beautiful to happen.

There is a saying that you have to try something once in your lifetime. “Just do it!” as the famous Nike tag line quips. Letting go of fear and keeping more faith in ourselves and the people around us (leaving it to Karma if they did us wrong) will not only make us live in fulfillment but in peace within ourselves because we live a life with no regrets.

“There is much in the world to make us afraid. There is much more in our faith to make us unafraid.” Frederick W. Cropp

    Hello dear friend :)

"The fear of something unknown" - the fear of what is waiting behind the door, the fear of the risk and the fear of regret. It is difficult to take the risk to open the door and walk out of the comfort zone.

    Zunnur,
I agree, but life is about taking risk don't you think so?

great post gurl =)if we keep thinking about our fears we will never fulfill any of our dreams. I've made "JUST DO IT" my motto these days. Got so many things I wanna do but I get discouraged sumtimes when I see the things that could go wrong. so I tell myself -Just do it!

Hi Wendy, yeah sometimes our fear stops us from doing something great... we chicken out ... and miss out on opportunities... but ofcourse having a gut feel about something is also different ... thread carefully but just go and do it!

Yeah! That post is a great motivation. I have just posted "Have you ever", which relates to your post, before I go to your site =)I was surprised when I read your post. We are thinking of the same idea at the same time. Amazing!

"What doesn’t kill me makes me strong" That can put a serious glitch in the word strong if the beginning part comes true.

All kidding aside, I think the biggest fear of all is the fear of rejection. May it be asking someone out, to marry, asking for a raise or even asking for support. The anxiety of having things go our way can weigh on us and cause that fear of rejection.

    Nicely done Earthlingorgeous

Hi Chie! :) Welcome! Hahahaha sometimes there is an airwave going along the blogsphere that everyone catches that they kinda think alike, what do you think Chie? hahahaha!

Face your fears, conquer them or forever live in fear.

    Hahahaha Donald,

Well, hmmmm when you get hurt but doesn't get killed by it you become stronger I think either emotionally, spiritually or physicically or mentally. Stenght has different forms :)

I don't call it best though... it's a fear no fear is ever good except fear of God (or for non-Catholic fear of Karma).

Of course I agree with you, but we can always choose not to walk out of the comfort zone to face the risk and regret. But then, you won't get anywhere further in life and regret might find its way to you later.

It seems that the struggles in life sometimes that we conquer are the things that make life sweeter.

    Zunnur,

Yup depends if we are willing to be risky or stay in an environment we are comfortable already. what we don't know won't hurt us too.
