Organic Apples

I'm sure you have heard the saying "an apple a day keeps a doctor away" but haven't fully understand where the saying comes from. Did you know that an apple contains just about 80 calories, is low in sodium and has zero saturated fat and cholesterol content and is an excellent source of vitamin C and dietary fiber?

Apples are the organic fruit of the month.National News Today has cited a food index scoring that ranked apples among the top of the most nutritional foods available today. Apples rank higher in nutritional value than bananas, orange juice, salmon and oatmeal as scored by the Overall Nutrional Quality Indez (ONQI) in the U.S. The ONQI is a system developed by 12 medical and nutritional experts from North American universities and and health organizations using algorithmic formula to score the nutritional value of foods on a scale of one to 100. They based it on 30 different nutrient factors and the higher the score the higher the nutritional value. The apple got 96 points on this scoring and your regular soda scored a very low point of 1 while your favorite pepperoni toppings scored a 9! So if regular grown apples are this healthy, imagine that of farm direct organic apples.

I read that Washington organic apples are the best in the U.S and are the leading organic apple producer in the world. About 60% of all the U.S. certified organic apples are from Washington. The National News Today features an apple farmer you can actually contact and order your apples direct his name is Paul Madden. You can check them out for more details.
